Out of respect for its site context, we undertook this interior restoration project with the consideration of its former life to create connections to its past and neighbouring community. While celebrating the features that were definitive of the building style such as the herringbone wooden floor boards, ceiling cornices detailing and framed wall paneling, design choices were deliberately made to complement the need for contemporary living such as the selection of fittings, finishes like the use of marble laid out in a linear, modern pattern, as well as detailing of the joinery and furniture.
